about changes to myTrip
iOS Today Extension update
With the release of iOS18 in mid-September 2024, Apple began to remove the ability to show iOS Today Extensions that were used to display Mobile Tickets and Favourites in the Today view on iOS devices.
Enhanced rider experience: new look for purchased tickets
This latest update refines the look and feel of a customer’s mobile tickets to improve the ease with which they can view and interact with purchased tickets.
Change to the Account Heartbeat to further reduce fraud
Change to the heartbeat timeframe for even better protection against fraud.
Limiting the availability of fixed-date tickets
To support scenarios where it is beneficial to limit the sales of fixed-date tickets, we now allow operators to set a limit on the number available.
Release Note notifications in Passenger Cloud
To broaden the visibility of release notes that communicate improvements to the myTrip platform (like this one!), we will now publish update notifications inside Passenger Cloud alongside our usual communications via email.
Introducing Departure Boards
We are pleased to announce that on Thursday, April 18th 2024 we are launching stop departure boards in the myTrip app so that users can see upcoming departures in the app as well as myTrip operator websites.
Preventing Passenger Cloud access from unsupported versions of Windows
To help protect your data we are removing access to Passenger Cloud from devices running Windows 8 or below from Wednesday, 13th March 2024.
Updating Twitter icons to X
To keep current with the latest branding for the social media platform we are updating all Twitter icons across operator websites to the 'X’ icon.
Increasing the security of websites
To help protect the privacy and security of operators and customers we are implementing security measures that will mean it is not possible to load operator websites or mytrip.today as part of another webpage.
Expanding NFC suppression in the app
To reduce the risk of accidental payment from mobile payment apps, such as Google Wallet or Apple Pay, we are increasing the parts of the apps where NFC is being suppressed.
Improved app navigation from the Live Buses Map
To streamline navigation in the app and give new users a more intuitive browsing and discovery experience, we have visually separated the main menu icon from the search bar functionality when viewing the Live Buses map.
Spring 2023 Quality of Life Improvements
To ensure the continued quality of the platform we regularly make small updates across the websites, app, and Passenger Cloud to improve performance, user experience or for any other quality of life enhancement.
Announcing the Passenger QR schema and integration by TransMach
We are pleased to announce the release of our own mobile ticketing QR schema for operators retailing their tickets in myTrip.
Updating bank statement descriptions for payments
To provide customers with a clearer explanation of the myTrip transaction on their bank statement we have updated the statement descriptor that is set when a ticket is purchased.
Showing ticket activation expiry in gift code emails
We are adding a ticket’s activation expiry information to gift code emails.
Displaying activation expiry on a user's ticket in Passenger Cloud
We are updating the user’s ticket view in the ‘Customer support’ section of Passenger Cloud so that it will display the activation expiry for the ticket being viewed.
Improving network visibility at wider zooms
To ensure that riders are able to quickly understand the areas and routes covered, we are now showing bus stops at all zoom levels in the myTrip app.
Expanding the availability of dynamic vehicle destinations
To provide more riders with visibility of the destination of a vehicle, we have expanded and enhanced the use of destination information for tracked vehicles, including wider support for dynamically updating the vehicle information to the next logical destination on its journey.
Customising activation expiry on tickets and supporting the Bus Fare Cap Grant scheme
We are adding the ability to customise the activation expiry period for tickets so that operators can accommodate the changing travel habits of their customers. For example, this will allow operators to offer flexible ticket bundles, or support time-based marketing initiatives promoting certain tickets.
