Improved app navigation from the Live Buses Map

To streamline navigation in the app and give new users a more intuitive browsing and discovery experience, we have visually separated the main menu icon from the search bar functionality when viewing the Live Buses map.

This indicates to users that they are their own pieces of functionality, making it easier to navigate to other parts of the app and perform a search. Prior to this, the menu icon was positioned within the search bar, leading to confusion for some new users as it looked like the icon was part of the search functionality.

We have also updated the shape of the search bar to give the whole screen a minor refresh giving it a more up to date feel, aligning with modern design trends.

We continually review the usability and experience of our apps and will update again when we find other areas of improvement.

This update will be released on the app stores starting the week of the 5th June 2023.
