Showing ticket activation expiry in gift code emails

We are releasing a change that adds a ticket’s activation expiry information to gift code emails so that the recipient of the email understands when a ticket needs to be activated before they redeem the gift code.

This email is sent when a customer purchases a ticket as a gift for someone else.

Now that the activation expiry on tickets can be customised there are a number of scenarios where adding this information to the email will help the recipient to decide when to redeem the gift code so that they can get maximum value out of the ticket. One instance is when a ticket has a fixed activation expiry date, for example the 31st March 2023, anyone that is sent a gift code for this ticket will need to have redeemed it before this date otherwise the ticket will have expired.

Another instance is if a ticket has a short activation expiry period, in this case, the activation expiry date will be set once the gift code has been redeemed. For example, if a user was gifted a ticket with a 7-day activation expiry period, they would need to activate the ticket within 7 days of redeeming the gift code before the ticket expires.

This change will be released on Tuesday, 31st January 2023.
