Off-peak and end-of-service tickets available

We’re pleased to let you know that you can now opt for mobile tickets to be valid until the end of service, as an alternative to tickets that run for their full entitlement following activation.

To make it easy for users to understand when service finishes, we have set 04:30 am as a universal cut-off time.

We have also added two off-peak periods to enable the introduction of mobile tickets that are only valid after the morning peak - one starting at 09:00 am and the other at 09:30 am. These have been based on how the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) is implemented in different parts of England:

  • 09:00 - midnight Mon-Fri. All-day Sat, Sun and Bank Holidays in England and Wales

  • 09:30 - midnight Mon-Fri. All-day Sat, Sun and Bank Holidays in England and Wales

These changes cannot be retrospectively added to existing ticket products, as many users have already bought and are actively using them. To make use of these new options, please let us know which tickets you would like to change and we’ll get these added to the app for you.

Where you would like new ticket products to replace existing ticket products, we’ll remove those at the same time. Any user with an existing ticket won’t be affected, they’ll continue to be able to use their tickets until they run out.

Thanks for your feedback and the time that many of you have given to discussing these changes. We’ve updated our Guide to myTrip ticket types but if you have any questions at all, please drop us a line via our Help Desk.
