Using Precise Location on iOS

To give your users choices for data sharing, we now support the option to switch off Precise Location sharing within the iOS app.

The Precise Location toggle is a feature introduced in iOS 14 that allows the user to chose the precision of the location information shared with apps.

By turning off Precise Location, the app will be provided with an approximate location with a wide reach. This will place the map in the user’s general area, rather than their exact location.

Previously if Precise Location was not enabled, we would not offer location support.

The first time the map requests to use location, the user can tap the Precise toggle in the top left to set the precision level, as well as their choice of frequency.

Precision location is ‘on’ by default.

Later, if they wish to change the precision they can change this in Settings > Privacy > Location Services
